We at YMCA of the Pines are grateful to Gabrielle Ostroski and her service to Camp Matollionequay and YMCA of the Pines for over 20 years. Her commitment to youth development, and the core values of YMCA of the Pines (caring, honesty, respect, responsibility, courage, and inclusion), has been integral to the growth and development of a generation of young women at Matolly.

Gab helped Matolly weather the storm in 2004 in which the camp dams broke, and the fallout during the subsequent summer in which there was no lake. In the years that followed, she led with integrity and passion, and saw many young women transition from camper, to Matolly summer camp staff member, to successful alumni working outside of camp. She has shaped countless young lives, and is no doubt remembered admiringly by all of them.

Gab’s legacy with Matolly will always be fondly remembered, as will the memories she helped create for hundreds of campers and staff members each summer. Gab brought a light and a passion to everything she did, and we’re all the better for it. We greatly appreciate Gab’s contributions to Matolly and YMCA of the Pines, and wish her the best in her future endeavors.

Moving forward, a new director will be announced in the coming months, and we look forward to supporting this individual to continue to expand the impact at Matolly, and to continue the camp’s wonderful legacy, as Gab has done, as well as the camp directors who preceded her.
