Matocky AM bussing

What safety precautions are we putting in place?

  • Camp will have at least 2 nurses on site at any time.
  • During staff training, we will be educating our staff on how to properly clean and sanitize all activity areas.
  • Hand washing stations will be prepped with soap and sanitizer.
  • There will be sanitizer stations around camp and at each activity area.
  • Campers will be provided the opportunity to wash with soap or sanitizer before and after each activity.
  • During check-in, staff will do temperature checks for each camper.
  • All staff will be subject to temperature checks at the start of each day.
  • If a camper states or displays any symptoms they will not be allowed to attend camp.
  • Activity specialists will be cleaning and sanitizing their activity area and equipment between groups.

Will it be required for campers to wear masks?

We will follow all New Jersey Department of Health requirements on this question. As of right now, it will be optional masks while participating in outdoor activities, or indoor activities where a mask isn’t practical such as meal times. Campers will need to provide their own masks.

Campers will be asked to wear masks on the bus.

What’s the difference between Stockwell Day Camp and Camp Matocky extended day camp?

Camp Matocky is a longer day than Camp Stockwell. Stockwell Day Camp ends at 4:30 pm. Camp Matocky’s pickup is 7:15- 7:45 pm Monday to Friday, Saturday pick up is at 8:00 – 9:00 pm. Camp Matocky will allow campers to have a similar experience to Camp Matollionequay and Camp Ockanickon with the same great activities, traditions, songs and ceremonies, without actually sleeping at camp. We are determined to keep the same magic and spirit that make Matollionequay and Ockanickon so special!

Will campers be allowed to swim in the lake?

Yes! We are still offering water activities such as swimming and boating.

What will group sizes look like?

Campers will be in single sex small groups of approximately 10 campers and 2 counselors called Teams. Teams will attended all activities together. Activity specialists will remain socially distant from each Team during the activity.

Will transportation be provided?

Yes, morning busing is available. See above for bus locations, stops and times.
The cost of AM transportation is $40 per camper per week.

Can you request to be in the same group as a friend or family member?

Of course! During the registration process you can submit your friend requests.

Will Color War and Matocky games still happen?

Yes! Each session will have its own theme for the week!

  • Session 1 (July 6th-July 11th): Elder Quest
  • Session 2 (July 13th-July 18h): Matocky Games
  • Session 3 (July 20th- July 25th): Olympics
  • Session 4 (July 27th- August 1st): Color War

What meals will be provided for campers?

There will be morning snacks, lunch, and dinner provided to all campers and staff.

What activities will be offered at Matocky?

Campers should expect to be doing all the normal activities they usually do at camp:

What does my camper need to bring?

We recommend your camper to bring the following:

  • Backpack (to hold all belongings)
  • Bathing suit
  • Beach towel
  • Bug spray
  • Change of clothes
  • Face mask
  • Flip flops
  • Refillable water bottle
  • Sunscreen
  • Sneakers (to be worn to camp)
  • Plastic bag (for wet clothes)

Are electronics allowed at camp?

No, we still believe that camp is a tech-free zone. Please keep cell phones and all electronic devises at home.
