Hello all…

It’s that time of year where everyone puts pumpkin and “pumpkin spice” in EVERYTHING!!

To most it’s a very homey taste… reminds us of the holidays… being home with friends and family… a blend of spices and flavors that warms us from the inside out in the approaching cool Fall weather.

This weeks recipe comes from my assistant, Chef Kimmie. It’s her very own Pumpkin Bread recipe that is sure to fill your home with wonderful smells and entice your pallet.

Pumpkin Bread

  • 3 cups sugar
  • 1 cup margarine
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 cups pumpkin
  • 2/3 cup water
  • 3 1/3 cups sifted flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves

1… Cream together sugar and margarine

2… Add eggs. Mix

3… Add in pumpkin and water. Mix.

4… Add in all dry ingredients remaining. Mix well.

5… Pour batter into a greased & floured bread loaf pan (13 X 9).

6… Place into a preheated 350 degree (Fahrenheit) oven and bake for 60 to 70 minutes.

7… Allow to cool for 15 to 20 minutes before removing it from the pan.

8… Slice and enjoy!!

(This bread freezes very well and simply needs to be removed from the freezer about a day before serving.)

Chef Kimmie is one of those of us that absolutely loves the flavors of this season so look for more pumpkin spiced recipes from her as we glide further into Fall!!

Be good…
