Hello dear readers…
This year, not only do I share my Birthday with Father’s Day… it was also the first day of General Staff Training here at YMCA Camp Ockanickon and Matollionequay… with Lake Stockwell to join us tomorrow.
That’s pretty a pretty epic day in the life of a person… father… and Camp Staff member.
And what a fantastic amalgam of a day it was.
I have been truly blessed to be a part of this magical place for a long time now… and now to see my own daughter entering one of our own programs, our Pre-School Day Camp, in just one short week from today makes me truly proud of all three barely compartmentalized days I had today.
To all the fathers out there who are doing it right… teaching their children right… being a great role model every single moment of every single day… I applaud you.
Collectively, our children will be the leaders of tomorrow. There is absolutely no question about that. It is inevitable. And I like to think that places like our Camp are giving more and more children the opportunity to excel in many different ways than what can just learning from a text book.
Continuing to support our families, our communities and organizations like Camp can only strengthen the future for everyone.
Happy Father’s Day to Brent, Keith, Mike, Jamie, Jim and Ruben. Make your arrow’s aim straight and true and guide our little ones down the path to becoming caring, honest, respectful and responsible young men and women. It will do us all some good in the future.
