Every year, we deliver thousands of Summer Camp flyers to schools during the week after Easter Break.  There is one route that I especially enjoy for a few different reasons.  A few years back, we started delivering to some schools down at the Jersey Shore from Absecon to Cape May.  Since we had such amazing weather this week, it made for a beautiful drive with the windows down and the radio cranking.  Summer is almost here!  The other reasons that I love this delivery is that it takes me right near my favorite restaurant and that restaurant is right across the Somers Point Bridge from where one of my best friends (and former counselor), Robbie Elder, works.  After I finished my deliveries, I met Robbie for a late lunch at the Anchorage Tavern (which has the best Oysters Rockefeller and Patty Melts on the planet!).  Robbie walked in and spotted me at the same time that one of the owners, Michelle Mahoney, saw me as well.  I was able to greet them both at the same time.  It was kind of fun because I was able to introduce Robbie as my former counselor to Michelle, who is the mom of one of this summer’s Ocky CIT’s.  It’s not a rare thing for me to run into folks I know from Camp when I am out and about, but it is rare to run into 2 at the same time!  Thanks to Michelle and her husband, Don, for a wonderful meal, as always!  Robbie, great to see you and I hope we can get out on the boat for flounder before Camp gets here!  Connor and your fellow CIT’s, I will see you in June.  Congrats on your acceptance to the CIT program and I hope you are ready for a lot of hard work this summer!
