Hello all!

It’s that time of year again for our “Learn To” series of classes including Learn To Cook hosted by myself and assisted by my long time Assistant, Nick.

This is honestly my favorite “side-project” that we in the kitchen get to engage in here at Camp. There is much satisfaction in preparing, cooking and serving over 1,600 meals per day here during our Summer Camp season and working with all the groups and events here at Camp throughout the year… but teaching this class… a small group of children who are interested in cooking… is really a thrill.

My own father had been a teacher here in Burlington County for over 30 years and I think a bit of his style… the desire to pass along knowledge and skills… rubbed off on me over the years. It is a really cool feeling to see someone successfully make, for example pizza dough, all on their own from your teaching and instruction.

As of last week we still had a few spots open for the class, so if you know anyone who might be interested in getting a primer in cooking, working in a large institutional kitchen side by side with a classically trained Chef (me!) and a Nutritionist (Nick!)… then sign up before it’s too late! Classes start Friday February 22nd and run for 4 weeks.

Here is are a few links to blog posts from previous classes so you can get a little taste of what’s going on…
