Summit Camp Fair

If you happen to be in the north Jersey area tomorrow, please stop by an see Gab and me at the Grand Summit Hotel, in Summit, NJ from 1-3pm.  We'll be there with many other camp directors talking to prospective campers and their families who are trying to choose a summer camp.  We'll also be the only camp there roasting s'mores (stop by and see how)!  If you know of anyone in the area who may be interested in Camp, please tell them about tomorrow's camp fair.  The Grand Summit is located at 570 Springfield Avenue, Summit, NJ, 07901?  Hope [...]

Colonial Cooking!

Rich and I spent yesterday getting our hands dirty in the kitchen preparing for our next installment of the Chairville Outdoors Club!  Tomorrow, 25 students from Chairville Elementary will join us in the dining hall to prepare three unique dishes from the colonial era. On the menu for tomorrow: Tangled Britches Pine Tree Shillings Indian Corn Sticks Check back next week to see the results! Dave

Frank A. DeMartini Craft Center

I took a walk with Mike Dzwill, Camp's Property Director, through the halfway completed DeMartini Craft Center the other day and it is coming along beautifully!  This building is going to be awesome!  I can't wait for the campers to see it this summer.  As exciting as it is to see a new facility nearing completion, let us not forget the courageous man that the building is named for.  Not only was Frank DeMartini a father, husband, and former Ocky camper, but he was also a hero who sacrificed his own life to save others in the World Trade Center on [...]

This week we got back to work at the DeMartini Craft Center, windows, the outer wood panels, and heating/ac units were all installed and progress is being made. We cannot wait to see the final building filled with happy campers!
