Job Title:        Marketing Intern

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Marketing Intern reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer (COO) and is responsible for developing and maintaining an online social media presence for YMCA of the Pines, evaluating ongoing marketing efforts for effectiveness, compiling reports regarding where current campers are coming from to focus future marketing efforts, to explore new potential markets for future marketing,  preparing and supporting marketing efforts for early registration (SACC and camp) summer camp, fall programs, Outdoor Center retreats, and other programs, and other marketing-related duties.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Develops operating goals, objectives and plan for the marketing and communications area. Monitors the achievement of this plan, taking appropriate action to ensure that the goals and objectives are met.
  2. Responsible for ensuring that all marketing is up-to-date. Including but not limited to on-line advertisements, website, on-site bulletin boards, signs, and printed materials.
  3. Provides and maintains related statistics and reports.
  4. Develops and maintains an online social media presence for YMCA of the Pines and hosted programs.
  5. Organizes marketing folders with 2023 content for future brochure and social media content creation.
  6. Research and review effectiveness of current marketing strategies, along with customer-related heat maps to make recommendations for future marketing efforts.
  7. Prepare marketing-related material for future programs.
  8. Support registration efforts for various program departments.

 QUALIFICATIONS:

This position requires a minimum of a high school diploma, and one-year of relevant college coursework, basic computer literacy, and effective communication skills. Communication with disparate audiences, especially parents, is essential. The ability to utilize publisher, power point, Excel, Word, Outlook, and other related software is beneficial. Finally, the position requires someone who can: step bravely, value others, seize joy, explore more, be resilient, and aim to understand.

 EFFECT ON END RESULTS:

The Marketing Intern fills a vital role for YMCA of the Pines. The effectiveness of the incumbent shall be measured by the degree to which the above goals are met.
