Two weeks ago I had the pleasure of sitting in the same room with Ruben Castro (Our IT Director), Keith VanDerzee (The boss), Jason Ostroski (The Chef), and Rich Rinaldi (The smartest Internet guy) to talk about how Camp should use its social media. The purpose was to try and figure out the best ways for Camp to use Facebook, Twitter, out Blog, and our Website so that our Camp community could stay informed about what was going on at Camp.

From this conversation, we learned about a new social media site called Pinterest. I had never heard about Pinterest before, but Rich had, and was very eager to share how Pinterest would help us spread the word of how great Camp is. Immediately after out meeting, Rich gave me a demonstration on how Interest works and I was hooked. Between Rich and me, we spent countless hours loading and creating “Boards” for people to look at. All in all, in our 1st week being on Pinterest, we went from 2 followers to over 100 followers!

What makes Pinterest so great for us is we can share so many pictures from Camp each day, also the fact that Pinterest is the hottest thing on the Internet right now.

Have a Pinterest account but not following us? Head over to; http://pinterest.com/ockanickon/ and help us get the word out about all that makes Camp great!

Check back next Saturday to learn about how we plan on using Facebook to change the way we talk about Camp!
