The YMCA Camps of Medford have been pretty quiet since Hurricane Irene passed through and this weekend we are extremely excited to have folks out at both camps. The Howell Girl Scouts arrived Friday evening with about 200 Girl Scouts and the University of Pennsylvania arrived Saturday morning with about 80 students. The Howell Girl Scouts have been coming to Camp Matollionequay for about five years now and we are always happy to hear their singing and see their smiling faces. Howell Girl Scouts will spend the weekend swimming, boating, candle making, tie-dying, climbing the Ocky wall, and of course, enjoying s’mores.

This is not the 1st time a group has come to us from the University of Pennsylvania, but the 1st time the Rodin College, which is part of UPENN has come to Camp Ockanickon and they have been enjoying some great weather out on the challenge course this afternoon.  Tonight was a special night swim along with a bonfire on the beach and of course….s’mores!

Over the next two months, both Camp Ockanickon and Camp Matollionequay will host school groups, church groups, Y groups, Girl Scouts, and even two weddings. Needless to say, there is always something going on at the YMCA Camps of Medford. Interested in some of our programs? Please head over to www.ycamp.org for a fill listing of all of our programs…maybe there is something there for you!
