Hello friends…
It’s been a while since the last Blog post… I know… but take that as a good sign. Camp is bustling with activity now that Summer is right around the corner!!
The Staff here, myself included, have been extremely busy hosting a plethora of Conference groups and Membership activities, like the Night Sky Network and Learn To Climb programs… bringing School’s Out Field Trips to Camp (pictured on the “Picture Of The Day” page)… holding our Annual Golf Outing at Little Mill Country Club… and maybe you even saw us at Murphy’s Day down at Murphy’s Marketplace on Stokes Road here in Medford.
We’ve been preparing for the season with our Roll Up Your Sleeves Weekend to spruce up the place… holding Lifeguard trainings for all of our Aquatics programs (Thanks Jen!!)… giving our Family Swim Center a little bit of a polish.
We also held our Annual Board Meeting on Monday night where we inducted a few new Board Members, said “good bye” to some who are retiring from the Board (we’ll miss you Spiffy Joe!!!)… and we even honored our Adult and Youth Volunteers of the Year.
Our International Staff have begun to arrive and the air is filled with all sorts of exotic accents.
In a few short weeks the Conference season will wind down and Staff Training will begin and then… SUMMER CAMP!!!
With the smell of campfires already in the air… the frogs and critters of all shapes and sizes chirping in the night… I sit filled with anticipation. The hard work done by each and every Staff member here at Camp all year around, the Caring, Honest, Respectful and Responsible work that is put into this place makes me proud… and honored that YOU… the parent… the group leader… the school teacher… troop leader… the event organizer… take the time, place the trust and feel the necessity to bring your children to our humble Camp for an amazing adventure that will build character and make memories and friends that will last a lifetime.
