YMCA Camp Ockanickon, Inc.’s Day Camp program is seeking quality employees for the 2018 summer. Our day camp provides 10 week of camp for campers ages 5-15. We also operate a full day preschool camp for campers ages 3 & 4. Have you ever thought about working at a summer camp? Lake Stockwell Day Camp 2018 Summer Staff Positions Available:
Leadership Staff Positions – 18 years and older:
CIT/LIT Director: Responsible for planning and implementing our Counselor-in-Training & Leader-in-Training programs CIT – Session 1 to 5 LIT – Session 6 to 8 CIT/LIT Directors educate our young teens to become camp counselors and leaders themselves. The CITs & LITs are the future leaders of camp!
Village Chief (Group Leader): Assigned to a specific age group and is the leader of the group. He/She will supervisor campers as well as 4-6 staff members (ages 16+). This position is the direct communication between the group and the Camp Director. Village Chiefs participate in all scheduled activities with the
campers and staff members.
Floater: Floaters are support staff that is able to assist in any position. They are flexible and go to wherever is needed for the day, whether it is a group
or an activity area.
Activity Director: Responsible for the planning and implementation of their assigned program area. He/She will prepare age appropriate activities for the campers.
Arts & Crafts
General Staff Positions – 16 years old and older
Preschool Counselor: Responsible for supporting the supervision of campers provided by the Preschool Director. He/She will participate in all scheduled activities with the campers. This position works with campers ages 3 & 4.
Assistant Counselor: 16+17 years old – requires 30 minute break each day. Shares the responsibility of supervision and guidance of their assigned age group. Assistant Counselors travel with their campers and participation and help in all activities. They are a support for the Village Chiefs (Group Leaders) as well as Activity Director’s during activity times.
General Counselor: 18 years old + Responsible for the direct supervision and guidance of their assigned group. Counselors will travel with their campers throughout the day and participle in and help with all activities. They are a support for the Village Chiefs (Group Leaders) as well as Activity Director’s during activity times.
Lifeguard: Training is provided by camp! The Lifeguard position is responsible for the daily operation of the waterfront, including the general safety and supervision of swimmers.
