Dedicated to providing meaningful, impactful experiences in the great outdoors!

We believe that our beautiful 800-acre property and our top notch year-round programs offer opportunities for relationship-building, character-strengthening and lifelong learning. Our goal is to help children, teens and families realize their potential and nurture their social-emotional, cognitive and physical development.

The three camps of YMCA of the Pines (Ockanickon for boys, Matollionequay for girls and Lake Stockwell Co-ed Day Camp) serve more than 750 children a day in the summer months, providing top quality programs in a safe, supportive environment led by professionally trained role models.

In addition, our organization runs  year-round programming, providing families, schools, groups, organizations and kids the opportunity to experience our camps’ positive programming every day of the year. Before- and after-school programs serve hundreds of children in local schools. More than 15,000 school students participate in onsite Outdoor Education and recreation programs, families enjoy special retreat weekends and children benefit from an array of year-round programs designed to build confidence, character and strong relationships.

We believe that lasting personal and social change can only come about when we work together to invest in our kids and our neighbors. That is why we work every day to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive.

Our YMCA affiliation means we include the Y’s core values in every aspect of our programming, demonstrating the importance of caring, honesty, respect, responsibility, courage and inclusion. Our experienced counselors and quality programming promote friendships, positive self-esteem and healthy development, and encourage individuality and independence.

Please look over our website and find the program that fits your needs, and of course, call us at 609-654-8225 or email at info@ycamp.org if we can assist you in any way. We look forward to you joining us at camp this year!

Our JEDI (Justice, Equity, Diversity, Inclusion) Vision Statement:

YMCA of the Pines is committed to welcoming all, to celebrating differences and to fostering a culture of diversity and inclusion in all that we do. By creating a safe, accepting, respectful atmosphere locally, we hope to inspire campers, staff members and visitors to not only thrive and grow, but to spread this perspective globally, as they leave and go off into the world beyond camp.

We feel we have a unique opportunity and responsibility to work toward full inclusion of all people.

  • History
You can’t go too many places in South Jersey without running into someone who attended one of our camps in their youth. YMCA of the Pines (once known as YMCA Camp Ockanickon) was established in 1906 by the YMCAs of Burlington, Camden, Gloucester and Monmouth counties as a place for young men to spend their summers, and in the process, strengthen their characters.
