A Modern Thanksgiving Wherever you are, you could celebrate Thanksgiving today. Not the Thanksgiving of a bountiful harvest before the long winter, the holiday of pilgrims and pie. That's a holiday of scarcity averted. I'm imagining something else... A modern Thanksgiving would celebrate two things: The people in our lives who give us the support and love we need to make a difference, and... The opportunity to build something bigger than ourselves, something worth contributing. The ability to make connections, to lend a hand, to invent and create. 5k Gobbler Run & Family Fun Walk

This weekend marked our 5th Annual 5K Gobbler Run and Family Fun Walk. The weather could not have been any better for the race with sunny skies and warm temperatures. With over 200 runners and plenty of walkers, this years 5K was our most successful Gobbler Run to date. We would like to thank all of our racers, walkers, and sponsors for helping us raise funds for our Strong Kids Campaign this year. Happy Thanksgiving! I stopped by the School's Out Program at Cranberry Pines and I found a ton of turkeys! The kids were making these awesome centerpieces for their Thanksgiving Feast - so cute!

Do you know my favorite thing about Thanksgiving? Blue Feather dinner. I have a proposition to all of our fellow campers, staff, and alumni. Wear your favorite banquet shirt this Thursday and don't be afraid to belt out your favorite village cheer. Wear green, wear red, or wear blue and this way our entire camp family can enjoy Thanksgiving together. Please have a safe and enjoyable holiday and Happy Thanksgiving from everyone here at camp!

5th Annual Gobbler Run

The five-day forecast is reporting sunshine and temperatures in the high 50's for our 5th Annual Gobbler Run and Family Fun Walk next Saturday. Mmmmmm… French Toast

Hello folks... Here's one of my all time favorite breakfasts... French Toast!! Ingredients 1 cup half-and-half 3 large eggs 2 tablespoons honey, warmed in microwave for 20 seconds 1/4 teaspoon salt 8 (1/2-inch) slices day-old or stale country loaf, brioche or challah bread 4 tablespoons butter 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional) Directions In medium size mixing bowl, whisk together the half-and-half, eggs, honey, and salt. You can also add the teaspoon of cinnamon to this mixture now if you so choose. This mixture may be prepared the night before. When ready to cook, pour custard mixture into a pie pan [...]

We are so excited about this week at Camp! Each of our School's Out Sites will be spending one afternoon this week at Camp - kids and staff will be able to climb the rock wall, do archery or even dare to cross over the "Swamp" - all for free!
