Hello Friends…

I just wanted to take a quick moment today to fill you all in on an exciting project that happened this weekend.

A group of wonderful, dedicated volunteers from The Little Rock Foundation came out to Camp this weekend to give Cherokee Village at the Boy’s Camp a very cool upgrade.

As you can see in the picture above… each cabin in the village received a “front porch” and a boardwalk connecting all the cabins as well as a boardwalk connecting down to the covered bridge nearby (pictured below)!!

Tina, Rocco and their band of hardworking folks fought the wind and rain on Saturday to make heaps of progress. They returned on Sunday, a rather beautiful Fall day, to continue the project.

Now, I will be honest… the pictures you see were from Saturday and I did not get a chance to visit the site on Sunday to take any pictures but I promise to get some more photos up ASAP!!

Camp is truly blessed that we have such amazing volunteers and organizations like The Little Rock Foundation, willing to give up their time, treasures and talents to make this place better and better each and every time they come here.

In case you don’t know who or what The Little Rock Foundation is check out their website here… http://www.tlrf.org/

Every year the Foundation brings a group of kids out to Camp, after our Resident Camps have finished, at the end of the summer for a week long “specialty camp” filled with all types of activities for visually impaired children. We even get a visit from David Akers, the place kicker from the Eagles!!

On behalf of Camp and our Campers… Thanks Little Rock!! We felt the warmth of your hearts blaze through on this chilly, cloudy October weekend.

Be good…

Chef Jason

P.S… Here’s the picture of the boardwalk leading to the covered bridge… More pictures to come!!!
