Earth Day

Hey folks…

Just in case you haven’t heard… today is Earth Day.

What could be a better way to spend Earth Day then volunteering some time to beautify and clean up you community?

Last Saturday we had a great group of folks come out and celebrate Earth Day a little early with us here at Camp doing just that.

We’d love to express a big THANK YOU to the LL Bean of Marlton!  LL Bean has been a long time partner of Camp and decided to celebrate Earth Day 2010 by donating some of their time and treasure to beautify part of our 565 acres of Pine Barrens. The crew of volunteers helped to clear brush along the Stockwell trails… an area that had an especially rough winter. They gave 110% for the entire morning and enjoyed a delicious meal with us before heading back to the store.

Just in case you weren’t already aware, the Marlton LL Bean store (based in the Promenade shopping center) provides kayak instruction at our Family Swim Center every weekend as a part of their Outdoor Discovery School: Walk On Adventure programs.

We appreciate the growing partnership and volunteer support of our friends at LL Bean. This type of positive active involvement impacts Camp tremendously and genuinely warms our hearts!

Since we’re talking about volunteerism, this seems like an appropriate time to remind folks about our next opportunity for service and fellowship… our biannual Roll Up Your Sleeves weekend is less than two weeks away. This event is a wonderful opportunity for families to spend some quality time together and give back to this beautiful place that we all love. Whether you are already in love with camp or are looking to get involved, this is your chance to “roll up your sleeves”, get your hands a little dirty and even squeeze in a some fun Camp activities as well!
