Hello all…

This past Friday night, Camp held it’s first Bingo Night event… Coach Bingo to be exact. Yes, Coach as in the brand of handbags, clutches and such. A total of 10 Coach items were up for grabs in each of the 10 rounds of Bingo.

Approximately 230 people packed into the Ockanickon Dining Hall on Friday for an evening full of games, fellowship and fun! Tables full of food, friends and Bingo cards spread as far as the eye could see.

The Camp staff was busy handing out cards, calling the games, running a 50-50 raffle, monitoring a Chinese Auction and showcasing the Coach items around to the players.

During a brief break in the action, our dear friend and Matolly alumni, Abbe Morris took a moment on the microphone to remind everyone why they were all really there… to fundraise for Camp… this magical place that so many people call home, find sanctuary and hold deep in their hearts and minds.

One of the most amazing stories I heard come out of the night was one of a woman who ended up winning two Coach handbags and turned around and gave one back to us to put up as a live auction item that ended the night with a fever pitched bidding war.

All in all the night was a huge success, raising around $12,000 for camper scholarships. What does that actually meant in terms of getting kids to Camp? Depending on what part of our program the children attend, it could mean 30 to 40 children can now afford to have an amazing Summer Camp experience here at one of our three Camps all thanks to this one single Bingo Night!

Thanks to all that came out on Friday and made the sold out night spectacular… and thanks to all the staff who worked hard to pull the event together. I think this is the start of a really cool tradition here at Camp!!

Be good…
