Winter Camp Continued

By |2011-12-29T12:31:01-05:00December 29th, 2011|

Day 3 of Winter Camp has been a blast! Today, our campers chose an activity in which they wanted to participate in, what we call "choice activity". There were many activities to choose from:  dodgeball, kickball, gaga, nature  hike, snow flake making, chess, etc.  My favorite to watch today was improv. During one segment campers were to pretend to be on a park bench and try to make the other person feel awkward. When one person felt awkward he/she left and another camper sat on the bench. It was extremely funny and the campers had a blast using their creative minds! Lynn [...]

Winter Camp is in full swing and we are having a wonderful time!  Activities include Cooking, Arts and Crafts, Earth Education, Challenge Course, Archery, Air Riflery, Gaga and much more! At lunch today, we had a sing-a-long dance party and it was a blast!  It is only day 2 of Winter Camp and with 3 more days to go, the fun and excitment has only just begun!

The Holiday Season is a very special time at Camp for my family and me.  Not exactly a relaxing time getting all of the preparations ready for my daughter, Katelyn's second Christmas, getting everything set up for Winter Camp, and running back and forth between relatives' homes, but a very special time.  It sometimes get so busy that we forget about why it is such an important time of year.  I was really reminded about the spirit of the season late on Christmas Eve after we put Katelyn to bed.  MaryAnn and I finally got to sit down after being [...]

I can’t believe the holidays have snuck up on me. So much to do so little time. I just got done checking the weather for next week and it appears that we are going to have great weather for winter camp. Knowing that brings a smile to my face. Our theme this year is going to be Toy Story. We have a jammed packed week of fun plan for everyone topped off on Friday with a Special Events Day! I hope everyone has a fun and safe holiday and I can’t wait to see you at winter camp but if [...]

Winter Camp!

By |2011-12-20T17:01:33-05:00December 20th, 2011|

I know that I mentioned this before already, but I can't wait for Winter Camp! I think my favorite part of Winter Camp is watching the staff come together. Knowing that these staff members are volunteering their time because they love being at camp and working with our campers, makes me so happy. The Holidays can be so busy and overwhelming. The last ten Holidays means WINTER CAMP to Brent and me. It's such an incrediable time of the year and it's such a blast to see both our Campers and Staff members have so much fun :)

The Frank A. DeMartini Craft Center

By |2011-12-17T13:51:07-05:00December 17th, 2011|

As some of you might have noticed, Camp has a new building in the works! The Frank A. DeMartini Craft Center will be located where the old arts & crafts building once stood. This amazing building, which is slated to officially open in March has been under construction for a little over 4 weeks and this week marked two important additions; heat/ac and water! Up next will be the application of the outside wood, windows, and then doors. If all goes to plan, the DeMartini building we soon be holding thousands of happy staff and campers!
